Bring a valid passport for all trips outside Canada. Some countries require that your passport be valid for six months beyond your date of entry.

When you receive your passport, you must write the name of the person to contact in case of emergency, a person who is not traveling with you.

Photocopy the identification page of your passport and keep the photocopy in a separate location during your stay abroad. Leave a copy with you.
